Message from Leahi SC President:

I am pleased to announce that Michele Nagamine (Coach Bud) will serve as Consultant and Jorge Barbosa will serve as Technical Director of the Leahi Soccer Club. They are members of the Board of Directors. The changes were approved by the Board during the March 2011 meeting.

We congratulate Coach Bud on her appointment as Head Coach at University of Hawaii Manoa and are excited that she will expand her influence on the future of women's soccer in Hawaii! Although she is no longer able to continue as Technical Director nor coach teams, we are fortunate that she will maintain her support of Leahi as a Consultant. She will continue to share the vision and mission of the club with the community, advise the Board of Directors in a variety of areas, and work with the Technical Director.

We are very pleased that Coach Jorge will serve as Technical Director.

He is responsible to oversee and develop club coaches and recommend technical direction to the Board. Coach Jorge brings a wealth of soccer coaching experience which includes successful guidance of Leahi teams since 1988, boys and ODP teams, and Punahou Varsity girls' teams for 8 years, winning 5 ILH titles and 3 State Div I titles. Jorge's recognition includes Coach of the Year at a state and region level. He became the first coach from Hawaii to earn a National Soccer Coaches Association of America Premier Diploma.

I am confident that the club will continue to excel and grow under the leadership of Bud and Jorge, teamed with all the coaches, players, and parents.

Mahalo,
Gus Harper
