Leahi 91 Premier Ho'okalakupua's hopes of a Regional title ended today with semifinal loss. The 91s advanced to the semifinal round for the 4th consecutive year with a 1-0 win over the Avalanche of Utah. In the semifinal showdown with the Pleasanton Rage, the Cal North State Champions, the 91s found themselves trailing 3-0 in the first half, but they would not go down without a fight. Meleana Shim scored to start the rally. Erin Rementer found herself free 30 yards out. She dribbled to penetrate and sent a rocket to the far post to close the gap to 3-2 at the half. Mid way thru the 2nd half, Jackie Suan scored on a header of a beautiful Aisha Price cross to even the game at 3 all. The 91s threatened several times toward the end of regulation, but were unable to get the the go-ahead goal. The Rage came out on fire in the 1st overtime period and got 2 quick goals. Erin Rementer's free kick during overtime appeared to go in, but was unfortunately waived off by the referee. When the final whistle blew, the score was 5-3 in favor of the Rage. The Coaches are extremely pleased with the determination and resiliency displayed by the entire team. Its not often you see a team battle back from a 3 goal deficit.
